I was wonder if i really need a distribution block, I have a kennwood kac-x812d with 2 gauge wire for my subs (ANL fuse 250) and a sony 222watt amp with 12?gauge wire with a fuse on it for my tweeters.

Can i just hook both power wires to the battery and be ok?

Or do i have to have a block?

What will happen?

No - a distro isn't absolutely necessary.

If you would prefer to run all your power cabling separately back to the battery then certainly you can and it shouldn't provide any adverse results.

Most of us use distros to keep from having to do that. Run one large cable (usually 1/0awg is sufficient for most users) from battery to the back and then distro off of that to the amps. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

i would have to splice a fuse onto the two gauge but the 12?gauge comes with a fuse already on it. And since one is so small it wont be hard to run it.
