Ib the midrange wont do so well. The 7" it will be a hit or a miss IB. These really are ment for use with enclosures. Some do get lucky though and some dont. I have used the 7" RS150 in a well deadened door and had decent results run active.

The Dayton's are extremely good performers for their price range. The drawback though, and there always is one is they are very difficult to work with. Especially the RS series drivers.

Dayton is highly regarded in the DIY crowd. You do need to be well versed in audio to work with the deficiencies though.

Well i get on line and see that they are home audio.
Being primarily marketed towards "home audio" doesn't automatically exclude them from performing well in car audio. In fact many "car audio" speakers are based on (and sometimes identical to) home audio oriented drivers.

That said I would agree with MiniVanMan. They are excellent performers for the price point. They are not, however, plug-n-play drivers.

If you are relatively new to setting up a high quality audio system or new to going active, I would probably advise you to go with a prebuilt passive component set or start out with more benign drivers going active.
