Arc vs Audison

I just bought a pair of rainbow powerline cs 275.27 component speakers. I was intially thinking of purchasing an audison amp (lrx series) for these puppies, but I have heard that arc audio also makes great amps. Is there anyone who has used both products and give me some feedback? The amp will go into a 2003 Honda Accord. My first prioity is good clean sound.

Thanks in advance.

My personal preference is the Audison. I've have run the LRx series and the sound was wonderful. I'm assuming you would be using something like the Audison LRx 2.250 or Arc 2100-XXK. At least comparing those two, I would say the Audison is a better amp.

And i'd say the Arc is the better amp out of those. They are linear and clinical on the top end, with the best midbass/subbass impact I've enjoyed out of amp.

Now the NEW LRx is another story. As they have gone the bipolar route with Sanken transistors, have great new design features and are actually close to par with the VRx (which isnt due for re-design until 2009).

The new stuff from both these companies is comparable and higher grade. Its not so much which is better, but what you plan to do with it. The new LRX certainly has the form factor footprintwise advantage over the FD's and now

have the following of which the FD's dont-

-a BIG/beast of a 2ch a/b in the LRx2.9 (230 x 2 @4ohms, 960 x 1)

- a staggered power 4ch in the LRx4.1k (120 x 2 +140 x 2, or 120 x 2 +500x 1 @4ohms)

- a 5/6 ch solution in the LRx 6.9

3.5Max6SPd I am a bit confused. If I go with audison then I plan on buying amp from the new Lrx series, which according to you are or are not as good as the arc amps. I want great clean highs and deep but clear midbass impact. I listen to a lot of jazz (mainstream) and female vocals. So it is important to hear the woodiness of the bass and the air in the trumpet. Also, Audison's website does not show the new lrx amps, so do you know of anysite that can show me their new lrx line.

Thanks

They are working on their website. The LRx i was referring to are the old ones(the model # SqChevy gave), not that they are not good-just found the Arcs to be a better exacting amplifier in the sound dept. THe NEW LRx's are the witch's tit! I can vouch for the new LRx, ARC SE's and Arc XXK's as I had them in my personal vehicle. Cant go wrong with any of those choices really.

Just be aware that arc XXK's and the LRx models currently on the audison website are all discontinued product.

3.5Max6SPd thanks as always. You are the MAN!!!!!!! Oh and I cannot wait to get my system hooked up once my speakers arrive. I am trying to stay calm and not think about it, but it is so hard not to. Now curious I see that you are using the Lrx 6.9 for your system and not the arc. Again, is this just personal preference?

Well the 6.9 is wonderful 1 amp solution, something Arc did not offer at the time and I needed to downgrade for space saving. Nothing other in particular really, I'd give either company my business. You are comparing two solid amplifiers, of which any direction you go will not make or break your system. Do not lose sleep on amplification, its a small piece of the puzzle- just ensure you have enough power for your application in the brands you are considering.
