I bought this new off a guy from ECA forum and have had it about 4 months. I installed it the other day and I guess it's just a piece of $hit out of the box. Brand new and the gain control does not work. The box was not damaged at all during shipping and I never dropped it, doesn't have a scratch on it but turning the gain control has no effect. Guess I'll have to send it off for repair but what a bummer and $hit for QC

Unless that person was a dealer and know for a fact it came directly from Arc you cant really blame it on the product or its QC. Its already been in someone elses hands. I would return it to the sender and have him refund your money or cover repair costs.

LOL, I know, sorry for the rant. I guess I was hoping there was more to working that gain control than just turning it because I realy do not want t have to send it off and wait 2 months to get it back. But I guess I might as well **** it up and send it off. Just sucks that I have everything installed and I'm gonna have to wait a long time to get the amp back. Guess I can just try to find some cheap unit to get by with until it gets repaired and returned.

Have you called Arc? Call and ask to speak to Brad. 2 months is not their turn around time for repairs, especially for perhaps a broken potentiometer- they possibly would just send you another one as well. Although you will likely lose a week each way to ship to cali and back.

He was a dealer. It was brand new with the inspectors tags and all that so I was the first to use it and it was obvious. He was about to go back to Iraq on duty and I've tried sending him emails but I guess he is unavailable and still over there so I guess I'm screwed on the warranty. Even if I have to pay for it, I'm more concerned about getting it fixed and put back in the car as I wias looking forward to using it. Anyway, guess I'll get in touch with arc today and see if they can repair it for me.

Thanks for the contact info, sounds good. Other companies I've sent stuff off to have fixed took forever including a monitor 1 amp. I'll give them a call
