A local stereo shop is wanting to install Maestro ev6508 component speakers and power them by using an ARC amp model KS300.4

I have two issues here are:

1) I do not know much about German Maestro speakers. There isn't much out there about them except they are basically the old MB Quartz, which I use to have. I do not remember what they sounded like since that was about 18 years ago.

2) I have never ever heard of ARC Audio. I can't find anything on that brand too.

HElp me out guys. What can you tell me about arc and what do you think about this combo.

Hard pressed to do better than ARC for the price. Not the best sq amp brand, but very near the best and within reach of most in cost. Much better than most of the amps recommended on this site. Try DIYMA.com - Search Results A lot of it is classifieds, but should be a few reviews in there on them.

For the Maestro. I have no idea, but it looks like they are not the old quarts. They probably did make them, but they definitely have came out with updated models. GermanMAESTRO - Powered by MAESTRO Badenia Looks like you can read reviews on the right of the page. I would definitely want to hear them before buying. But the old quarts sounded better than the new focals. So the maestros may be good.

Arc Audio is some good SQ based equipment, I've heard some of their subs and used an Arc amp. Sub was sealed and it sounded really clean on most music it didn't play very low but what can you expect in a sealed box. The amp I used was really nice clean power, easily did rated probably a little more... I can't remember the model on it

KS-300.4 is known for it's efficiency/Sound Quality/compact size....

I love mine, get's quite loud and is crisp and clear as you could want.

If you want SQ this is the amp for you

Not the best SQ brand? While I will agree that there is no such thing as "best" The arc se's are some of the most well built, clean sounding amplifiers on the market. The arc ks series are very nice amplifiers as well. Fairly efficient and very clean sound for a price tag that's hard to beat. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Yep definitely not the best using sq as the comparative. SQ amps can go for 10k. Even arc's se line can not hold a candle to the best. I think I covered it was a good sq amp for the money. As are diamond, zapco, audison etc. McCintosh would be a step up from that group. Still not the top of the line but getting much cleaner yet. Put old school US made into the mix and even the solid brands of today have a hard time keeping up with snr, thd, and "cleanliness".
