Aquatic Turtle Owners

That pic is ~4yrs old, the turtle has long since been sold.We (the farmers) can't get much for 2 headed turtles, but on the grey market they do sell for high prices.

I think my dad got $150-175 for that one.

We sell all our turtles to the over seas market. Mainly China.
hahaha well 2 headed turtles dont live too long anyway... right?!

Depends.

Sometimes they are oddly developed. Like siamese twin turtles, those usually don't live long.

Ones like the one in the pic i posted can live a long time. They are just 1 body w/ 2 heads, 1 digestive track and all.

What is crazy w/ that turtle was that sometimes one head would be asleep, the other awake. And the heads would fight over food, lol.

when we had cattle we had one with 2 heads that we kept around

it was the same way one head hanging down asleep the other loking around or eating

it was funny to see them try to eat at the same time

just say you are selling the aquarium and water

Would it be a bad idea to do this....... since i have that 4 inch turtle, i was thinking i can go back to that swap meet and buy another turtle the size of a penny, and put it in the same tank with my 4" one?

i was just saying sell everything excet the turtle cant get in trouble for having a turtle in there if you arent selling it
lol well i guess. but who would go through all that trouble to get a baby turtle? And pay all that shipping for the aquarium and stuff

I got a baby red ear slider as a b-day gift a long time ago when I lived in Germany. Had to hand carry him on the plane in a tupperware container with holes punched in the lid and a little bit of water in it when we came back to the states when he was about 2 years old.

He loved to be pet on the top of the head. He'd extend out his neck and let me pet him from shell to nose with a finger. Sometimes I'd even be able to pet the bottom of his neck.

They make great pets, imo. Just a lot of work to keep their living arrangements clean. The aquarium water used to get so dirty, I'd have to completely dump it, wash the gravel and filter, and scrub the glass about once every two weeks at the very least.

I'd recommend filling up the bath tub a bit every now and again and let him swim around. Setting up a sprinkler in the yard and letting him go was fun, too.
