I personally think 1200+ rms is to much for anything more than a 10 foot run of 4gauge, so to me yeah youre over pushin it. But Im sure theres some cheapos out there that have done it, theres also a good ammount of people that have had meltodwns and fire....
A 2 gauge kit is what $20 more? You spent $500 + on subs n amps, whats $20 for protection and overhead room

Yea, the 1200 will be the biggest I'm going to run, so it should get me by. I don't see myself upgrading anytime in the future. But if I do happen to, I can always do that, it won't be a problem.

I buy spools of welding wire (much cheaper) of various sizes, 1/0 is $1.29/foot, 2/0 is 2.39/foot and 4/0 is 3.75/foot.

Then pick up some klarity rcas from Knu for $7.99

Make your own **** kit

I was planning on such. Where do you buy welding wire? I already have some nice rockford rcas, so I just need my power wire.

I personally went to a few local welding places and got the best price, any weld supply shop in town should have it, but prices vary, call around. I only did that because Im in canada, and shipping sucks balls

weldsupply.com has CRAZY good prices, especially when you buy 25+ feet (pick up some extra for the big3 possibly), but its dirt cheap, as your not paying for name brands or fancy jackets. I personally like the black wire look, and pure copper wire is better than the CCA crap most kits come with

Yes the subs are in my eyes the best budget subs Ive ever used, and Ive used ALOT of diferent brands, I ended up grabbing a couple more and throwing them in a wall.
How big is your box gonna be? Hopefully 7+

Also, your wiring is gonna get HOT, 4 gauge for 1200+ is not a good idea

Skip01 on here has ran a 40.1 using a single run of 4g from front to the rear.

not saying I would do it but I dont think he had problems doing so.
