box is 16cf internal after displacements, port has 252sq in, tuned to 37hz, front is 3" thick, port is 1.5" thick rest of box is .75" think, any input?

Looks good. Plan on adding some external 2x4 bracing to a box that size. Looking forward to hearing this when it's done...

ive been talking to a guy on termpro who has been using apxx's for a long time and this is what he said works best for the 18 in a wall, i hope its tuned low enough for my liking, should hit hella high though being so big efficiency should be way up. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/thumbsup.gif.3287b36ca96645a13a43aff531f37f02.gif

Is that guy on termpro named Mr Stany. Somthin like that. Id look him up if its not on termpro. He knows his APX subs.

Id say make that box a bit thicker. I have mine. My face plate is five layers thick. And everything else is 1.5 thick. Back is at least 2 inches thick. Do allthread for bracing.

Note Same guy helped me with the design of my box.

stany yes thats him. he told me 4" front baffle but i think i can get by with only 3, he said he used the 4" front for his burp frequency but i think i will make one port for db drag/bass race tuned to like 55 and then make this one for daily.

Well only thing is when you start going up in power that sub is going to wang as they say. I would make the box as thick as possible now. Rather then redoing it later trying to add thickness.

nice and huge port! also i would add bracing to the walls that are going to be only 3/4". also resin on the inside and fiberglass the corners man!

You will be very happy in the long run. Over time with a thin walled box. its going to come apart. When I get time I will send you a pic of my box for the apx I have.

very cool. how much power do you have on it? yeah im going to redesign it soon so i can still get the 16cf out of it and have 1.5" all around.
