Apples and oranges?

So, I have a friend (I know, amazing right?) that is wanting some sound in his car. After listening to my little system, he says he wants to just duplicate what I have done for the most part. I have 2 SA 12's on a Tarantula 2000. We got to looking at soundquebed 300 series 12's. On paper, they spec out to be amazing for the price. How would these two subs stack up? I am not asking which is better, so much as I want to know if they are equals, so to speak. Thanks in advance to anyone who has some experience with these two subs.

I would go with the SQ 300 series 12s, for the price they cant be beat really. i thought about running 4 12s myself

Will these things really take 1200 watts?Has anyone ran these on here, and how did they do? I am trying to match up an amp, and looking at the Q1-2200. I am just taken back by the price on these. It is almost a "too good to be true" sort of thing.

I have never ran any aq/sq, but I have heard them several times. They have a good reputation for a reason. I had seriously contemplated a set of the hds310's, but went a different route due to a trade I was able to make for a set of dd608's. If I ever decide to do 10's, it will prob be the sq hds310's. A set of the hds312's should sound great on that q1-2200.

As these other guys have stated, SQ has a great reputation for a reason. With that said, they are totally different power ranges... While the SA can handle 1200 daily, the SQ could handle more just due to the nature of it. Bottom line is he won't be disappointed one bit either way. If he's got the electrical I'd say go for a couple HDS312s, if not then the SA-12s.
