so my ipod crapped out on me recently, funny though, as i was just reading a thread here the other day of how ipods **** ???lol.

so i was thinking to myself, maybe it won't cost too much to just have it fixed rather than buying a brand new one, right? now the ipod i've got is a 4th gen, the kind w/o color and w/o video, 20 gig. i dont realy needa watch stick figures run around on a tiny 2inch screen anyhow, so i basically used it to hold all my music.

so i go to apple.com to try and find out about how mch it'd cost to repair, and this is what i get:uhoh: ...

its more than it would cost to get a brand new one!!!! anyway i thought it was rediculous, so now i'm either out to buy a new ipod or the like.

so with that said, my question is what would u guys suggest for a user friendly mp3 player that has plenty of memory(enough to mount up to my old 20g ipod), more won't hurt either. price is somewhat a factor, i guess under somewhere under 300. oh and ebay is my friend:greedy:

i got my girlfriend the 20g dell dj about two years and my mom got my brother one at the same time ago and have had no problems what so ever and they both use them on a daily basis my bother seems to allways have it on him

might be somthing that would work for you

yea the refurb 30 gig seems like the better idea. comes w/ 1 year warranty also:yumyum: . but the first one mentions looks hella nice, do u know if it comes w/ its own sync software u have to use, or can u use anything; like windows media etc cause itunes sucks bigtime
any more suggestions?
The jetaudio is drag and drop. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif Use Windows Explorer and just drag and drop all your songs into its harddrive.

The only thing that I would do beforehand is organize all your music into folders. It doesn't base sorting off of ID3 tags, rather how you have your music sorted. So I just created files for all my artists and put all their songs that I have into the appropriate file.

That way I don't have 4 different folders for the same artist like ipods do sometimes. (i.e. How Lil Jon and the Eastside Boys, Lil Jon & the Eastside Boys, Lil Jon would all have their separate folders on ipods, instead they are all in the same folder). What I did was have separate artist folders for whole albums and also created a "random songs" folder for each artist for a few random songs I had for a certain artist. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

It can also act as a USB host so you can transfer pictures on to it. Plus, no gh3y itunes. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif If someone wants a song off of it, all you have to do is plus in the USB cord and transfer the song over to their computer.

The only slight negatives about the jetaudio are that you have to use this little subpack thing to upload files/charge it/have a line out. Its not much of a hassle though. It's also slightly thicker than the ipod because of the larger battery.

Did I mention that it has a 35 hour battery life and can play virtually any video (after converting of course)? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
