Has anyone tried any of the Iphone /Ipod apps for spl meters some read read specific technical data and are kinda pricy 24.99 and upgrades are even more some will allow external mics plugged in and what not just curios anyone tried any of them?

the JL Audio app is developed by Studio Six Digital. They make an awesome add-on package for the iphone. iaudio interface is an external mic and mic-pre, and audio tools contains lots of acoustics software.

i do have a mic response curve for the iphone/ipad - the curve depends on the generation. they cut out bass in order to make speech more clear. for it to be useful, you'd need the full iaudio interface and audio tools package.

iaudio interface2 runs $400. that is just the hardware. then the amp has quite a few in-app purchases that you could easily spend another $100 on.
