Anyway to go 16v without getting a 16v alt?

what if you are running big time amps that pull big time amps? a 50a fluxcap wont suffice, will it...?

No. Match them to your alternator.

I have a 225-amp alternator so I got two 100-amp units.

Running your alternator at the proper voltage will be much more efficient than a step up device. There is always some current lost when transforming voltage.

Besides that, 16 volt AGM batteries have to be charged at 19.2 volts for proper charging.

Do it right, get a 16v alt, use a step-down module to send 12v to the vehicle and straight off the alt to 16v bank for the amps.

Step up or step down either way your gonna lose some efficiency either way.

When using a true 16v alt and a step-down, you have the proper charging voltage for the batteries. A dual alt set-up is the best method and not really that complicated to install, if space is available to add the second alt.
