Im going to be amping 6.5"s and 6X9s

The amp is a Kenwood Excelon x40 puttin out 100W RMS @2 ohms

This shoudl sound way better than my head unit puttin out only 22W RMS.

It will sound immensly better than the HU. Wasting that kind of power on rears, but whatever.

I usually keep a little rear fill.

The thing is, in his scenario, not running rears will sound a little odd when you have coaxials.

The biggest part of not having rears at all is to have a good sound stage up front, and good imaging.

Plus, getting a 4ch amp even if you are only running your front speakers isn't always a bad thing. I use a 4ch amp, bridged to two channels for a stellar amount of power.
