Anyone Want To Help Me With A Box Design?

?????
I'm looking to build a ported box for 2 Pioneer TS-W305 subwoofers, but I'm not sure exactly how to make it. I want around 1.4 ft^3 net volume per sub, and tuned to around 30hz. I'm not sure if I should make the port out of PVC pipe or make a slot port, I have no idea how to make slot ports and I don't know how to figure port displacement for the PVC pipe. Would someone like to design a box for me, or at least point me in the right direction? I drive a 1994 Sentra, so trunk space is pretty limited.

not exactly the easiest of things to do. you need to have a good idea what you are doing.
Well I'm willing to learn, everyone has to start somewhere. I'm definitely a DIY kind of guy, I'm not about to pay someone to do something that I'll probably enjoy doing myself.

If you know what frequency and box volume you want to use you still need to have an idea of what size port you want to use (cross sectional area). For instance, with 2.8 ft^3 net box volume, tuned to 30 Hz, using a 4" diameter pvc pipe, the pipe would have to be 10.5" long.

I know that, but how much air would 10.5" of 4" PVC pipe displace?

area of 4" pipe = (Pi)*(radius^2) = (3.14)*(2^2) = 12.56 in^2

volume of 4" pipe, 10.5" long = (12.56in^2) * (10.5in) = 131.88 in^3

convert cubic inches to cubic feet ---> 131.88/1728 = .076 ft^3

Alright thanks, with that formula making a ported box shouldn't be too hard. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Then i would not be the one to teach you b/c i am not good at it myself. Just play arround with programs like winisd.
