okay for me, my job there keeps me inside the camps, and indoors from the nasty weather. the only real threat are the occasional mortars fired inbound on us. internet access provided by the military, it works --- but to use IM, skype, youtube, etc we have go to internet cafes provided by iraqi ISPs---they suckmassive c4m3l4nus for the prices they charge

Not to get off topic here but i just had to throw this in...
When I served in Desert Storm we were lucky to get a phone call once a month. Not only that, the phone call had to be collect. If the party you were trying to reach was not home you were SOL. Also it took about two hours in the back of a raggedy 5-ton piled in the back like sardines. It was after midnight when we could make calls (time difference).
There was no computers or internet. You youngsters have it good, despite the hell you are going through over there. I know what its like, been there and done it. I have scars and a Purple Heart to show for it. I commend all of you for hanging in there!
