Email him that your glad he's raising taxes on tobacco. Remind him he can get even more money if he ups the gas tax a bit as well.

I'm all for it since I drive an economy car. Since I don't drink anymore he can tax the shizzle out of alcohol as well. Get that beer to 30-40 bucks a case and cut me a break on property taxes.

Hmm last time I checked somebody else was in office for the last 4 price increases..... So how can you blame a totally normal occurrence on him... It is easy to point the finger when you look to blame somebody. Also cigs are a luxury item. And although I think the tax amount is a little high, for an luxury item they are dirt cheap. You could be buying the canned tobacco and roll them yourself( a lot cheaper) are you just too lazy? Even with that out of the equation ... Let me see alcohol for a good 1/2 40bucks. Last you about 4 days if you drink every day. So 10 dollars a day. Weed.... well lets not even go there on cost. Car audio... oh wow for sure lets not go there on cost.... quit complaining or quit smoking

The United States does not have a universal model of health care, like ALL of our colleagues in other developed countries. We do have a fail safe with medicaid and medicare which is the benefit package guaranteed to our seniors that have earned their pension and respective government benefits. And we also have medicaid which provides for the most young, pregnant and destitute of our population.

Tobacco is the most nasty plague to a public health system that exists in developed countries (except diabetes and obesity) in the U.S.

If there was a universal system of health care in the U.S. where WE ALL could have health care which would ultimately be paid for by out cumulative tax dollars... TAX THE FUK OUT OF TOBACCO AND "HANG SMOKERS". I do NOT want to pay for medical care for preventive conditions. BUT... I HAVE NOOOOO PROBLEM PAYING MORE TAXES FOR A UNIVERSAL HEALTH CARE MODEL. And the CA people that go on and on about "my money being spent on other people" actually make me laugh.

Until then....

MEH........Tobacco taxes without a legitimate reason... it is a shitty way to grab more money...

Screw my taxes paying for welfare and alcoholics as well. And from what I've been told by the people that have it universal health care isn't the utopia that it seems like it would be. You wait 12 hours in an emergency room just to get very substandard care. But that the hell some one else payed for it right?

Free medical does have its dark sides.... Such as not near the competitive nature in the medical field thus over long term providing much worse health care over all which in all reality doesn't benefit anybody. I for one am strongly against free health care

I smoke Marlboro's. A month ago they were around $3.40 a pack.. now they're up to about $5, some times more at other stores. Half the people on here arent old enough to smoke..... O and mine went up from $4.50 per pack to $5.57 and on wednesday all cigs are going up $.62..... Grand..

I've heard from a few people that cigs are going to over $7/pack starting on the 1st of April.

Black and Milds went up considerably, too. They used to be around $2.75 for a 5-pack, now they're about $4.50

I quit when they were ~3$ a pack. If your still smokin you must have something wrong with your brain. I was smoking ~2 packs a day if not more, and that is 2x30=60x7=a sweet azz car payment every month.

I never understood how so many people can be smoking cigs. With all the information about how harmful they are why would someone want to do it? Not to mention the price of them. I never understood it.
