Anyone ran 500 watts or less to a type r?

i never got mine loud off 500 watts. I put one in a ported box (1.5 Cubic feet) and gave it 500 RMS from a Rockford 500s, and it didn't hit the lows that well. Give it 1000 and it comes to life. It might just be me though.

it'll do decent on 500 watts. When you say less, how much less?

Its not worth it to buy a type-R if you're only playing with 200watts. I'de run one on 500 though.

x2 on the enclosure comment. Big enclosure with a big port.

ill give you some credit, there is a little bit more knowledge in this post compared to your past ones, but you still arent correct in many aspects //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

The reason I ask, I will have 6000 watts on 8 alpine type r's. that will be 750 watts each. I figure with voltage drop and imp rise I will see around 500 or maybe a hair more per sub.

well, at least they will sound much better given 500 watts, and 8 of them will get f'ing loud. Post vids when you can!
