In the 200-300 price range. I keep looking through Craigslist, but for some reason, Miami's CL sucks dick. Right now I'm in between:

Epiphone Les Paul 100, Epiphone Les Paul Studio, Epiphone Les Paul Standard, Gibson Melody Maker, Squire Telecaster and Fender Standard Telecaster

The prices range from $250 to upwards of $500 for the Standard Tele. I'd get these all at a store for about the same price as online. I'm not gunna leave my guitar to warp and get destroyed during shipping.

Now, does anyone have a recommendation for a guitar in that price range? I play a lot of rock, and Blues/Jazz.

This'll be my second/third guitar (I had 2 Strats, a Crate and Squier, and I frankensteined them.), so don't link me a Starcaster or a Squier Strat kit.

why electric? i will never and haven't played an electric guitar. acoustic is where its at! well actually classical guitar is my fav. u can get a good classical for around 250. check local pawn shops to!

I have a good acoustic... but I'm not much of an acoustic guy. I have my moments... but over all I like the versatility of electric.

i've got a melody maker that I like. No experience other than messing around at the store with any of the others.
I went to a local Guitar Center and tried out every guitar I linked except for the Melody Maker. I fell in love with the Epiphone Les Paul Standard.

WTF???? YOUR RIGHT!!!
I paid $600 for it about a year ago. I hadnt realized they came down so much on them. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

So if you interested, make an offer.
Your guitar might be of better quality wood / construction. Especially if it was constructed in the Americas (Mexico, Canada or the US.)

However, I'd have to go out and actually play one... and I spent like 3 hours today testing out guitars... I probably won't be able to get out there again until next weekend.

Im pretty sure it was made in Korea, just like all Schecters.

It plays pretty nice. I get some really fat bluesy tones from the neck p/u. The bridge sounds really good with w/ a nice rock distortion. They are the typical Duncan Design humbuckers. Its strung with some Ernie Ball 10s right now. I have a Schecter C-1 Exotic also, but thats my baby! I put some Seymour Duncan Blackouts in it and it freakin SCREAMS. Plays like butter too.

I was thinking about getting Blackouts for my Rich.
DO IT!!!! and do the 18volt mod also.

EMG has some new actives that are supposed to be on par with the Duncans too. I havent heard them yet though.

My Blackouts are very versatile, the scream when I want them too, yet I can also get some really FAT bluesy tones. They some nice trebly (SP?) highs also.

How much did you pay for your Black outs?
