Anyone own the Miracle Blade Knife set???

Thinking about picking up a set for my mom, even tho hers are like only 5 years old , they dont cut for shit... I know its an Infomercial product and they never seem to work as good as you think, but just wondering if anyones tried them

Good rule of thumb in knives, don't buy a kitchen knife that's serrated. And it looks like all of those are.

yea thats what i've heard to.. I have a descent $150 chicago cutlary set, nothing great , but their not serrated and seem to still cut great.. Like I said I always used to see the infomercial for these , and didnt know if it was worth 40 bucks for a shit load of knives.. Plus you get 2 sets of them

they are not all serrated had our set for close to 10 yrs. for general kitchen use they are fking awesome mine are still like razor blades. i have a 1500$ knife set that is a favorite ( 600$ german cleaver ) but for the cost the MB set are better than any big box retail store bought junk.

i work at a local seafood restraunt and we bought a set just to have there. first week they cut great and are sharp as FACK. after a couple weeks you definitely can tell when they get dull. for $40 its not too bad.

but there not taking care of properly as in there just thrown in with the other silverware to be washed. so they bang with other metal a good bit which is probably why they are dull...if taken care of they would be GREAT....we still use them to cut veggies.

Hmm thanks guys, yea i suppose for $40 for TWO sets , you really cant lose.. My stepdad has some fancy knife set, Wustoff or something and those things are awesome.. Yea like I said they'll be for general kitchen use, nothing big.. The only ones im guessing will be used are the multi purpose one and the steak knives..
