Anyone listened to Alpine SPX-13REF and SPX-13PRO components?

Looking at both of these for my front stage. Crutchfield has the 13REF at $350, the 13PRO at $600. I can get the 13REF new for $180 off Amazon or the 13PRO new for $320 off another site.

A new MRP-F600 Alpine 4 channel amp is going to provide the power.

Is the PRO going to be worth the money over the REF? Is there really going to be that much of a difference?

I decided to get the 13REFs so hopefully I made a good choice. Amp and SPR 6x9s should be here tomorrow.

Anyone have experience with any of these?

I had a decent system in my truck in high school, but I have never heard such a tight, crystal clear, smooth sounding system in my life. I'm definitely no expert like some of the people here, but I am extremely satisfied. I drove around until 2 AM adjusting the settings and listening to different CDs.

My friend listened to it and he was amazed.

I went with the Pioneer DEH-5100UB deck, and I also had Dynamat installed in the front doors.

I'm sure the SPX-13PROs are nicer but I'm satisfied with my choice and I absolutely love the REFs. I have two 12 inch RF Punch subs in my basement but I'm not sure if I really even want subs right now. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

Good to hear that! Heard alot of good things about type X componants. Ya gotta love the looks on peoples faces when they hear a clean sounding system without all of the mud.

how are the highs? was thinking about getting a set but i HATE sharp sounding highs haha

i have the 177r set and the highs are fantastic. it's a little lacking in the midbass but alpine are known for this.

I think the highs are very nice. Very smooth and definitely not harsh like the Infinity Kappas I listened to.
