Anyone know about bass boosting programs?

Just got audacity and had 2 key questions.

When bass boosting a song what Fq should i boost it at(preset at 200Hz) and how many dbs(preset at 12) should i boost(whats normal)?

Don't use the built in bass boost function, it's garbage

Use the equalizer. I adjust the 20Hz, 25Hz, 31Hz, and 40Hz sliders for bass boost. 50Hz goes a little below 0, and the rest go down more

This is what my equalizer looks like, the 20Hz-40Hz sliders are at ~6.0dB and the rest are at ~-15.0dB

Changing of course, slightly, from song to song. My treble is also cut more than most people would like probably, because it is geared towards my head unit settings.
