Anyone in Financial Services?

I don't want to learn about the profession of finance. I'd rather learn how to get Flip to do those things for me.

Its a pretty good career, I have been at it for 3 years. There are many jobs besides advisors, but they have potential to make all the money. the series 7 is really hard, but its more memorizing laws and what types of investments there are instead of math.

The trick to being an advisor is the selling. You have to develope leads to build your client book, which can take a few years, After that you can just charge a % of your clients accounts to manage

I am not a good salesman...so I do not like it. Plus, I think career advice is better taken from someone in the career.

My knowledge of finance is based on my own experiences, as well as theory. The actual management of clients and client needs, not so much. I'd hate to be in the financial services industry when clients are calling asking why the markets are down.

I do all the "advice" any broker can do for free in CT that you would need. People with very specific financial situations I do reccomend them seeing a professional. I can only provide insightful, however general, advice.

I'm a finance major and currently licensed life and health insurance agent....it takes a while to get down the basics and build a client base, but once you've done that, it isn't so bad. There's definitely good commissions in anything dealing with finance, assuming you aren't salaried. It's all about how hard you want to work for your money really.
