Anyone here use a Fused Battery Terminal?

I was wondering if anyone used one of these fused battery terminal? I'm thinking about purchasing the Streetwire unit and completely forgoing old method of using terminal, wire, fuse.

My question is, how does a Fused Battery Terminal stop the surge at this type of terminal. If you look at the picture, I don't understand how the AFS fuse would stop the main power wire. It looks to me the main power wire would be receiving power constantly (since it part of the terminal itself) even if the AFS fuse would blow. Help me understand if I'm missing something...

Thanks Moe, that would make sense. There looks to be one metal block that supplies constant power while the other block is separated by a insular of some type -- perhaps the plastic bottom you mentioned. This other block is shielded for power unless the fuse is connected.

I think I'm going to try it.

Phoenix Gold has one that I'm using. Pricey at $30 but it works awesome and can be fused up to 300A. It has two 1/0 outputs (one fused, one not) and one 4awg out. AS WELL as having a screw to hook ring terminals too. TMC.902k
