Anyone here Suffer from Migranes?

....I get them atleast twice a month....haven't latley tho but was wondering what's ur meds of choice?

I use to use imitrex but would make me throw up badly at times...

Once in a while usually after a crappy day of work so, I eat dinner then some tylenol pm then go to sleep

I have had them all my life, the only thing that has ever helped is a burger, sweet tea, and sleep, no medz just food

Topamax daily, Relpax for bad ones that arise.

Topamax has not only decreased the frequency of which I get them (went from almost daily to maybe 1 every mo/every other mo), the ones I do get are not always day enders (or multiple day enders) like the ones before the meds were.

Relpax is super expensive, but it will cold clock any migraine within 30min with almost no side effect. Go to a doc and see if you can test these out to see if they work for you.

could mine be a pinched nerve or something? it feels like i have a normal migraine, but if i turn my head to the left i get a pain in the back of my head and partially down the back of my neck... hmmm

go get a ctscan/mri i have a pinched nerve in my lower back causing severe testicle pain so anything is possible is suppose

My medical coversall prescriptions....I use to just down 8 advils when I got them but now I'm on the whole sleep thing

That's fairly common with migraines. A normal headache occurs from constricted blood veins causing a lack of oxygenation to the brain. A migraine often occurs with both swollen veins, as well as increased blood pressure. This is the cause for the much more intense pain, as the veins often put pressure on the grey and white matter of the brain.

Two large veins exiting blood flow from the brain back to the heart come through the 'back' of the neck and are close to the surface (much like the jugular in the front) and are often the cause of the neck pain that almost feels like a pinched nerve or severely stressed muscle. As a temporary relief, dark rooms with no noise, as well as direct pressure and hot/cold alternating rags tend to help some.

Never had them, hope I never do. Are you talking prescription drugs or OTC? Just try Midol, I bet it would work wonders for you

For most people, OTC medication does absolutely nothing for migraines.
