Anyone here have a Tahoe?

I have a 99 Tahoe. The factory CD player is separate from the head unit; it sits in a space under the A/C controls.

Recently I removed it to gain acces to the area behind it and just decided to leave it out. Now there is a big ugly hole there that I want to fill in (not the first time I've said that). Just wondering what others have done here. I can't see putting a useless CD player back there.

I thought make it into a little cubby hole or something. Maybe put something cool looking in there... mini fish tank... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif I dunno.

Anyway, ideas/suggestions? Post pics if you have something.

Eugenics has a Tahoe. I think he did something similar, except that he has a tarantula instead of a fish tank. Send him a PM in case he doesn't see this.

Or look for a 1 din equalizer and toss it i there. this may be your cheaper option. lol

I actually like the fish idea... haha

I mean.. you could just use to hold your ipod or w/e.. If you use that for your music that is.

Already have a 16 band EQ in my HU, but I did consider putting a fake face on there with some faders or buttons... maybe rig it up to do something stupid like turn on strobe lights or something. Kind of tacky, though. Would be a decent place to stash weed, but I quit smoking kindofsomewhatalittlebit.

I thought of making some kind of insert and using it as a little cubby hole for holding... stuff. I don't have an IPOD. Thought about it, but never did get one.

I have a 99 tahoe too, i removed the cd player and made it look great! hope that helps.

Metra makes a pocket that fits in there to cover the slot. I vote for the 1 DIN EQ though.

I cut 1/8" plexi about 1/2" larger than the opening and painted it with flat black paint. Then I glued it to the inside of the opening with the painted side facing into the dash, so the shiny plexi is what you see on the outside.
