Ok so heres my story. Had plans to put in a 15" btl into my tahoe I was getting soon. Already have my amp and what not. Well my dad is old fashion and hates systems. Says, "It's a bunch of n****r s**t." So when he learns that I wanted to put a system in my tahoe out of spite he's now buying me a ford f150 single cab. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eyebrow.gif.fe2c18d8720fe8c7eaed347b21ea05a5.gif So now I have pretty much no space to put my planned system. So I was wondering if anyone had a truck simular to this and how they put a system in theirs. I'm pretty bummed becasue this was going to be my first system and I was pretty excited....thanks for any help you guys have

tell him 'you're right, i don't need a system.' get the tahoe, then put a system in after you 'don't like the stock system.'

a good system makes music sound better, not neccesarily louder. at least tell HIM that.

I really wish I could pull stuff like that but theres no way, he wont get it for me now that he knows what I want to do...man, parents sure can be ignorant sometimes.

im 16 and dont have that kind of cash. Really wish I could and even if I could scrape together that kind of money then their goes my system

I do not care one bit. I'm not complaining I'm just looking for someone with the same type of space to work with and what they did.

Here's a thought -

"Dad, being able to customize my car is really important to me. So rather than you buying me a car, how about you co-sign a loan on the car I want? I'll make the payments & build a crazy sound system with what's left over."

[You'll need a job for this to work, of course.]

Good used Tahoe's can be had around $12,000. A 3-year loan is about 350/month, that means you need maybe $450/month for insurance, tag & payment. That means find a job where you make $112.50 after taxes per week. Not tough. Any extra goes to a rockin' system.

Bonus - now dad's so impressed with your independance, self-reliance & motivation that he buys you a great deck for the new ride.

This is more impresive if you go get the job & save up a grand before making the sales pitch. Should take you 2-3 months.

I've really wanted to do that and have a job but my parents limit me to only working part time becasue they want me to focus on school which I can understand. I would be more than willing to work my ass off so I could have my own car, but it can't happen...

what are you looking for in a system? earthshattering base or what? chevyman i think is his username has 1 fully loaded 12" btl in a single cab and is hitting close to 150 i believe.

//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif Here's a thought: he is 16 years old and his parents are buying him a vehicle. He seems pretty grateful overall and seems to be moving on with the fact that it's not the vehicle he "wants". There's really nothing he has to prove here. Get a car bought for you, move on, and install a system.
This isn't a parenting forum.

Now with this said, I would do 3 10's sealed. Depending on your budget, you really have a lot of options. Another thing you could probably fit is 4 8's ported. That would really thump. I've also seen many trucks with 2 12's sealed in them.

Just let us know which you would prefer, and we can give you more suggestions.

I just helped a buddy put 2 12in Type R's in a ford reg cab it beats nicley //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gifgood suggestion.

i think he has an IA 20.1 wired down to .5 I believe, but has the electrical system behind it to keep it strong.
yeah. i think his alt just died on him tho, link to his name is above send him a pm.

I really want a15 btl fully loaded...but i dont think its possible. But anyother suggestions are really appriciated. Don't want to go the route of multiple 10's or 8's.

Welcome to my world.......the biggest I would go is 1 12" ported you can do it so that only the passenger has their knees in the dash......I'm planning on doing a single 10" sealed under the center console. I had 2 10" but the box wasnt custom and it was terrible on my knees. I'm sure 2 8's would fit fine with no lose of leg room and you may be able to get 2 10's sealed to work out. If you want boom I suggest one 12" ported......fiberglass would be another option. So far I have had 2 10's sealed and then 1 12" sealed then I ported it.

The biggest system I have seen in a f-150 reg. cab with no cabin modifications was 2 12" kicker l7's. I asked the guy if he losed room and if the box was even ig enough. He told me that he lost prety much all leg room and that the box was way too small for those sub....and this was all fiberglass.

Even 3 10's is not as easy as you think. Anything box that is more than about 30" wide(3 10's ) 5 inches deep and 10" tall(assuming this box is made for 10's) you will still either be losing leg room or have to ride with the seat so straight ittl feel like its leaning forward
