Anyone have opinion on Soundstream VIR8006T?

Hey guys,

I'm very new when it comes to car audio as I'm sure you'll figure out by my thread. I went to an audio shop yesterday to get a quote on upgrading my factory system and he quoted me with all Soundstream products.

For the head unit, he showed me the VIR8006T which is a 3.6" DVD/CD/MP3 player W/TV Tuner. I cannot find any reviews or really any info on this unit online and I was wondering if any of you had any opinions on it. I was quoted $400 as his price, but online it can be found for around $300.

So I'm looking for your opinions on this, and also some recommendations for something in the same price range that might be better.

I have a 2003 Impala LS.

Is there a good place in Car Audio Forum to post the entire system he quoted me to get your advice, or should I just go to each sub category for opinions?

Good unit but I would suggest the VIR-8004 just because of the dail, the razor style is a little slow turning up or down, very annoying when competeing because seems like for ever to get it turned back down. $400 is too much, but do not buy a $300 unit off the internet support your local shop and meet them half way on the price ($350 is more realistic for the price anyway. Power Acoustic, Farenheit, and Soundstream are all the same, exactly and the Farenheit and PA are cheaper so look for them, they are all owned by Soundstream. Hope that helps.
