900$ for a 42" LCD isn't that great of a deal...if you can wait, black friday is right around the corner.

Black Friday is overhyped. That tv is okay but not great, a few years ago Sharp was the best but not anymore. You can find a nice Samsung 42 inch LCD at Bestbuy for around that price that will be much better. If you are on a budget look at LG or Toshiba as they both have nice tv's.

Walmart has a 46" tc-p46u1 for a little under 800$ on Saturday morning. You're gonna have to wait in line for it though.

I only have Samsung so I can't make any recommendation between the two. But if you're interested, you can examine the reviews of the different brands in order to see which one is the best LCD TV that fits your budget and requirements. Considering the number of choices you have out there, I think this is a wise move. Just my 2 cents.
