Anyone have experience with SW8102 series eclipse subs?

I got the sub installed, only one ATM until I can get the other one. I've previously owned these subs, but traded them in to the audio shop for someother stuff. I got my box back and one of the subs. Instead of giving me my old "used" subs he gave me a "new" one. its supposed to be dual 3 but it reads at 2ohm when its wired up. Anyway, im powering it with a cadence txa 1000d which should give it around 500w @ 2ohm, and its 500wrms. my problem is, it bottoms out. ALOT. it doesnt get loud at all unless the gain is up to where it starts bottoming out. im not sure if this "new" driver was used, and is in bad shape or what. when i had the SW8102's last time i never had an amp for them so i have no idea what they would have sounded like. i dont understand why its bottoming out when im giving it is RMS rating. im stumped on this.

Heres a video of it with the gain just below half way, on volume 28/33 bass at 0, no bass boost. i thought it was good to go, it got loud in the car. thats when i checked out the sub and noticed how bad it was bottoming out so i took a video of it.

Lower the gain; you're definitely over powering it for that enclosure. And yes, enclosures do change power handling.

What size enclosure is that? Is it the .75 cube enclosure in your sig?

Just because your amp says it does 500wrms @ 2 ohms doesn't mean that you're not causing it to put out much more power than that. Hell, that amp may do 700wrms at 2 ohms and 900 @ one ohm. It's very possible.

yea its in .75 cube. ive lowered the gain until it stopped bottoming out, but i have barely any bass at all now. its very dissapointing. i guess ill try building a new box, bigger chambers. i have no idea what tho. 1cube per chamber isnt much more, but i dont want to make it too big. any suggestions on box size?

Smaller box. IIRC a bigger box makes a driver more effecient, so that will make it worse.
