Anyone have experience w/ subleasing an apt?

My apt costs $725 a month, and the lease is over in January. My gf is moving to Indy (we now live together), and I need to move out there once I find someone to take this apartment.

I put an ad in the paper for 7 days. Today is the last day. About 15 people called. Four said they would stop on by, but only two of them showed up. Having just two people to hope on doesn't sound so promising. Any suggestions?

I plan on caling those people back tomorrow and let them know I'm thinking of dropping the price a little (which means I would loose money in the deal).

Whoa....what kind of apartment is this? That's basically a mortgage payment.

If you call them back, don't say youre thinking of dropping the price a little, just say something like I can do $650 a month if you can move in immediately or something along those lines.

I live in North Aurora, IL. That is at the edge of the Chicago suburbs. Just about anything in this area is $$$. I am about a 12 minute drive from Geneva, St. Charles, and Batavia, which are some VERY high priced suburbs. This was one of the cheepest apts I found when moving into here.

Eh... I came *this close* to graduating w/ a teaching degree. I did not pass my student teaching due to working on weekends. I am thousands of dollars in debt with no degree to show for it. I have to find another major or another univeristy to finish my degree.

AGAIN lol $725 is cheep for the area.
