I now have a constant ringing in my left ear, and I think it is from my system... I went to the doctor once and he told me it was TMJ from a recent ear infection I had. Its been 6 weeks and the ringing is still there, so I am going back Wednesday.. Also when a TV is on, there is ringing in my left ear that isnt in my right. Its weird.. Anyone else ever had a problem like this?

If you think it could be from your system, you are obviously listening to it too loud. If I ever had ringing, I would know it wasnt from my system. Respect your body man, don't fuck your ears up at 17 and have it affect you the rest of your life.

Well the ringing actually started back in November and is still here.. I was hoping it was TMJ like the doctor said.. He thought it was TMJ cause I had gotten an ear infection not long after the ringing started.. My ear felt like it was always clogged up and I always extended my jaw wide to get my ear to "pop" back to normal.. The ear infection was gone but the ringing was still there.. And still is now.. I go back to the doctor Wednesday and I am going to ask lots of questions..

As a matter of fact, I just called in to my local advertiser and put my system up for sale.... Im really going to miss my bass, but I like my hearing too much.. I just wish this ringing had a chance of going away.

Also, my ear that has the ringing is the ear closest my my drivers side window which is always down.. I have read on here before someone else had a problem with ringing in that ear and it eventually went away.. I looked for the post and couldnt find it though.

Save yourself some money and try this first.............

Get some Claritin D 12hour or 24hour...which ever....get a weeks worth. It will dry up your eustation tubes, which is the leading cause of ringing in your ears. That will only help with the symptom, the cause is normally sinus drainage, brought on by whatever. If it persists, hit your doctor up and tell him that you have some drainage that is causing ringing in your ears... Claritin D has been my temporary cure for Vertigo. If you read up on Vertigo, they most definitely don't mention something this easy that would help it. Good luck man, mine used to do the same thing when I first started building loud systems. ONE WORD.... Claritin!

i have no ringing in my ears...and i have a LOUD daily driver...i guess im a lucky one...and isnt it called something along the lines of tennitis (sp??) or something like that.
tennitus, yeah. They say I have that too....maybe, but they say theres really no way to test it. It startened happening when I was in Iraq.

Its called tinnitis...

Before you go out and spend money on meds, try to Valsalva. In other words, hold your nose, close your mouth, and blow. This should pop your both of your ears. If it wont pop, or you have to really force it to pop, then its clogged. You need an expectorant (guaifenesin). You can get it Over The Counter (OTC) in 200mg tabs or Prescription in 600mg (Humibid or Mucinex) tabs. You can also find it in Robitussin. This will also help if you have a lot of drainage in your nose. Either way if you are taking it, drink lots of water because it will dehydrate you...

If your ear pops easily, its probably not due to a blockage in your eustation tube...
