I've personally witnessed AVG catch things that Nortons NEVER alerted on.

My machine has AVG on it...the pc almost never gets turned off so as a result is always online...and I've never (*knock on wood*) once had a virus problem. Ever.

I use AVG Free edition, which isnt even as good as pro, and I love it, it works great. Never had a problem yet. And its free.

I know many people who have had viruses that AVG missed and I caught ...

To tell you the truth, It has worked fine for me. I run two Anti-Virus programs, a firewall, and a anti-spyware/adware program all the time. AVG doesnt use alot of system resources unlike other programs. So, as far as your experiences, it might ****, but i have never encountered a problem with it. But, i really dont care. I hope you feel better after "insulting me." I offered a program that does work, but apparently that pissed you off. Sorry?

AVG may "work" but not as nearly as well as norton. I work at a computer store and Norton has proven to me to work much better. But the choice is yours. If it has worked good for you then great, i am glad it has. But there is better out there just to let you know.

^^ Ive used that before.. worked well for me, but not as well as AVG. The other program i use is Spware Doctor... Works very well, but im sure ill get flamed for using it as well.

Not sure if anyone in hear reads PC Magazine, but AVG Free was given their approval.

WTF are yo upaying $30 a year to keep viruses updated when AVG will do it for free?

(Ok dont quote me on that price for Norton but it is stupid to pay any way.) I personally use AVG and any other freebie online. Ad Aware isnt too bad for spyware. Yahoo Toolbar actaully is decent for spyware as well. There are better virus scanners but for anything that it doesnt catch such as a new virus or some out of control thing Symantic ALWAYS releases a fix for the thing free to the public.So dont hate on the free things in life.

And How long subscription do you get???? NORTON is a PAID anti-virus.

BTW I have Norton Works and I hated it. Takes resources and if you want to get rid of it, good luck. I got more frustrated then Ray Charles with a "Where's Waldo?" Book
