Anyone Familiar with an Alpine PDX 1.1000?

I have an Alpine PDX 1.1000 and I'm curious as to how I set the input gain selector switch on it. The manual says it's supposed to set according to the output level on the head unit and the settings are toggled between 0.1V - 1.0V or 1.0V - 8.0V. I have an Alpine CDA-9887 with triple 4V pre-outs and I have the switch set to 1.0V - 8.0V. Is this setting correct?
