anyone familiar with 2001 crown vic radio install?

I have a buddy im putting in a cheap sub and amp for him, the factory radio is one of those ford radios with the 2 prongs on either side, snap in and yank out, he already has an aftermarket radio... how do i get that out?

I never installed a radio on a ford, but their is a tool you can buy to pull the radio out.

yeah the tool is for when your pulling out the factory radio, its got 2 prongs on either side, you stick these horse shoe shaped steel rods in each side, snap in and yank out...

but my buddy already has an aftermarket radio... hence no holes on either side of the radio to snap in and pop out... so how do i pull it out

Depends on the radio, but they have keys the go in the sides and pull it out.

he has a pioneer, i don't see any key holes in the pioneer

the kit just pops in. pull it out. i had a 01 Marquis.
