Anyone ever use 6" subs?

A possible solution to my vehicle's problem is use a pair of 6-3/4" subs in the rear deck, like Kicker's Resolution 02RMB6. They claim 30-500 hz and 125 watts.

I'm looking for something to go a bit deeper than my Infinity Reference 6X9's. Anyone used these puppies?

my bad. i just read your post regarding your problem. this may be a little radical, but, if you are up to it, it may be the best solution to your problem. build a ported box and have the port extend to a custom made vent through the rear deck between the 6x9's. this will definately put the bass inside your car without removing the sound deadening material. that would just increase your road noise. just the opposite of what we all are trying to obtain.

Yuh, my Delta was designed to be quiet. And there are logistical issues with most solutions, including your suggestion.

1) Full size spare tire. Smack in the way of installing an enclosure in the center between the 6X9's.

2) Daly Driver Familymobile. Not gonna give up tons of trunk space (gotta get groceries ya know).

3) Almost fully restored Olds, I intend to show the car when I'm done. New chrome, new paint, new wheels, etc... Hacking big holes in the rear doors for speakers makes me cringe. The 6X9's will remain the main speakers.

The rear deck will accommodate 2 more 6" jobs, that's why I ask about them. I might also be able to mount 8" subs and port them through sealed holes in the deck, but hang them free air into the trunk space.

hey man, with out seeing what you have to work around it is hard to come up with a good suggestion, but, i tried. your best bet may be the free-air 8" subs. what else can i say but good luck!

p.s., my groceries now go into the back seat... no room in the trunk.
