Anyone ever make their own amp?

?
Do you know the shoddy levels of production of most "car audio amplifiers"? Better components and design certainly do yield a better amp, but I wouldn't go as far to say that they're "specially tuned devices" - anyone with a soldering iron and the know how could reproduce one. No voodoo required...
False. The engineering behind an audio amplifier is far greater than you know. A class or two in advanced operational amplifier applications would change your mind.

so your saying putting USAmps parts in a PPI board will make it sound same, better, or worse... im getting mixed signals.
Depends on the individual component. Most are generic and similar among all devices. Theres no reason you cant open a fried amp and fix it with parts ordered out of any catalog. Just gotta know what needs to be replaced. My comments really had more to do with circuit design than anything else.
