Anyone ever have this problem?

2004 GM Scosche HU harness. I ran into a weird problem today. My ABS light and Parking brake light came on and in the process my voltmeter gauge dropped to 0. Not the voltage though I metered it. Just the gauge misreading. Well I went back into the harness to see what was up. I unhooked the buzzer that comes with the harness and the 2 lights went away and the voltmeter read as normal. I hooked that buzzer back up and the 2 lights come back on and meter drops back down. The truck didn't act as if there were a problem at all except with the buzzer hooked up. Has anyone had a harness do this to them? What could actually be happening? During this the HU would not get power and fuses were fine.

Unplug the negative and positve battery cables. Re-check everything... then plug re connect battery
