Has anyone here had experience buying from Woofers Etc and if yes, then was it a good experience or not? I'm planning on buying a Memphis amplifier from them but I'm not sure if they're a reputable online retailer.

Also on Memphis' site they state that some online retailers sell conterfeit copies of their amps, how is that possible? The casings on their MC series amps would be pretty hard to copy and I searched the net and haven't found anyone buying a copy so maybe Memphis just wants more business for their store retailers?

careful what you buy from them if you want a warrenty. A lot of the stuff they sell is not authorized by the manufacturers.

He said it all there man. You'll probably get your stuff without a problem...but when a problem comes up, there's no warranty. I even had that problem with another site that I thought was safe but turned out they were not authorized.

According to Memphis' site there are no authorized online dealers for their products. I'm going to see if my local shop can come close in price to Woofers Etc. The thing with the shops is that they also want you to have them install it for $40 - $60 because they say otherwise it won't be covered under warranty. I think Memphis has 3 warranty if it's installed by a qualified technician and only 1 year if it's user installed.

i bought both of my memphis 16-mc300 amps from them. the funny thing though is that one amp came with a serial number, and the other has the serial number removed.... i almost want to call memphis and run the serial number on the first one, but i really don't want to get woofersetc in trouble since i've used them a few times with nothing but smooth transactions and great customer service. ( I ordered some 20" rca cables and they called be a few hours later to confirm that i wanted 20" cables and not 20' cables. I thought that was pretty classy of them.) I wouldn't hesitate to buy from them again. my $.02

I called Woofers Etc and they said that Memphis Audio won't cover the amplifier if it breaks but Woofers Etc has a 1 year warranty on it. My local shop said that they'll sell me the amp for $220, and Woofers Etc has it for $180 plus shipping, so I'm not sure if I should go with the shop because I'll get a 3 year warranty with them. I haven't read anything about Memphis amps breaking down though, but I've had experience with amps going bad before. Both of my old PPI amps went south a couple weeks apart when I had my mustang, I got the fixed under warranty and they never broke down again.

Yep for 40 more bucks would go with your local shop. They give you the longer warranty. Just like 6 speed said alot can happen in 3 years. Also stay away from ikesound. com. They screwed me pretty bad. I got half my order and there customer service sucks. Peace!

There are other car audio manufacturers who set up warranties like that. IMO, $40-$50 or whatever might not be a bad deal to get 2 extra years of warranty. IT is still your choice, however.

Usually, if you install it yourself, you can have the local dealer inspect it and sign off on your reciept to give you the full warranty. I did this with some JL subs though for $40, I'd go with the local shop- but then I usually do. I hate waiting for the mail....
