Anyone ever build an enclosure for a newer ('08) Malibu trunk?

The trunk opening on these cars are tiny.. 34" Wide, about 14" MAX tall, and the trunk is super deep but obviously working with the opening causes that to decrease a lot..

Was going to put 2 12" Type R's in there for a friend.. I was going to fire em up, slot port to the side.. Was thinking 13" Tall, 34" Wide, 22" Deep.. Just wasn't sure if anyone can do anything bigger or a different way.

I don't see that being big enough with just 4.43ft^3 before sub and port displacements. Hopefully someone with experience can chime in and give you something bigger to work with.

I know, thats why Im asking lol.. hes got a 3ft^3 prefab ported box for em right now.. Need to get him outta that someway or another..

what if u build the box inside the trunk like got all the cuts drilling all done and then put the box in and assembled it, then that way also it cant get stolen

I have an 08 Pontiac G6, from what I have been told the trunk in the 08 Malibu is the exact same as the 08 G6. With that being said you should be able to do 36" wide. I have a few different box designs for my trunk for 2 12s. Let me know if you would like for me to go find them. The dimensions of the boxes in the designs are 14" tall X 36" wide X 23" deep.

And those measurements are to fit through the opening? I had 34 Max for the opening .. the box he has already barely fits and is 34 wide.. and I was thinking 13 tall and 22 deep to make sure it fit.. let me know if u can send ur measurements or if any pics that'd be great.. thanks!
