always had a thing for them, killer lil cars... i was so jelous when my uncle rolled up in his 69 //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif . Ill probly end up with one as my next car (project car) for fun, i was lookin at like a 2300cc (~200hp or so) motor all chromed out. Maybe a glassed amp rack in the front cargo area and rip out the back seats for the subs. Dam i want a bug //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/furious.gif.fc81ca146dbff91fede3ed290dbc4f4c.gif , and the worst part is my uncle got his for only $200.

I like 'em but I have neither the automotive know-how to restore one nor the funds to have it done. A high-school friend of mine moved to Austin, TX when she got married and ended up in what she calls 'Hippie Heaven.' According to her there are tons of old air-cooled VeeDub parts to be had and it ended up being a boon for her years long ongoing project of restoring a Porsche 914 that was her father's before he passed.

I've seen some set up with really outstanding SPL setups and there was once a purple w/ yellow lightning bolts-painted one that used to race regularly at the dragstrip in Hallsville, TX with a 500 c.i.d. Caddy motor that they wedged in that lil sucker some kinda how. It was awesome - ran high 8s to low 9s without being able to plant it good.
