Anyone done any DIY speaker stands?

like title, has anyone done any DIY speaker stands for bookshelf set?

something simple like these

uses pvc filled with sand so they are decently stable

a friend said something about wrapping some poles with a material and putting lights on the inside so it has say a soft blue glow to it, but sounds like too much work for some glow

whatever it is im gonna paint it mostly gloss black with maybe some silver accents

i fyou wrap it, then put lights on the inside how are you gonna see the lights?

I made some pretty much just like that, but instead of PVC, i used 3 strips of birch ply, and did not make a back side to them.

then added something to run sires cleanly, and thats about it.
