Anyone done an install in an '07+ Infiniti G35 Sedan??

When I sold my last vehicle the system went with it, I've had the G35 for a couple years now and it's time for an upgrade.

It has the "fancy" stock system with 10's in the doors, 3-3 1/2 in the upper door and tweets in the A pillar area plus a center channel. The stock speakers are crap plain and simple, but with room for 3 10's in factory locations (there's a 3rd 10 in the center of the rear shelf).

Changing the "deck" if you can call it that is not an option, it's 100% integrated with the car. However I would like to go with all new amps/speakers/woofers, SQ would be the main goal, with a little more thump than the factory setup.

Who's torn one of these cars apart?

Where's the amp(s)?

How deep are the 10's in the doors?

How are the signals delt with? Active/Passive crossovers?

Any help would be great so I don't have to start blind.

I've never worked on one for speakers before, but here is a link that might help as far as the factory amp go's - 2005-2007 Infinity G35 with Bose Wiring Information

other than that, your best bet is honestly probably to check out a dedicated g35 or infiniti forum.

Thanks for the tip, that probably refers to the coupe which didn't get updated until '08, the sedan was redesigned for '07 and shares virtually nothing with the '05- '06.

I've tried G35driver.com which seems like a popular forum, but everyone there is keeping the '07+ stereo stock and just adding wheels, suspension, engine mods etc.

There must be someone out there who's done something with this car, it's got tons of potential, and not everyone can be happy with the stock BOSE speakers and crap.

I've got an 07 Maxima wich uses a driver's info screen that is integrated into the head unit. I had to use the Metra NIRD-01 adapter in order to keep the driver's info screen functioning and still be able to replace the factory head unit.

When i worked at BB one of my coworkers installed subs and amp in a g35 and messed up some wiring on the factory amp and somehow fried the whole electrical and it had to be towed to a dealer.

how the fuck you do that installing an amp is beyond me.

I've installed decks and amps in a couple g35's, have yet to do an 08+ one yet, tho.
