anyone built system at home?

whats like the hifonics brand of home audio amps? every house amp i see is so expensive...
The "Hifonics" brands are probably the ones you see sold at Best Buy and such...new Onkyo, Panasonic, Yamaha, etc. I'd steer clear of them.

If you want good stuff that'll last for more than a year or so, I'd look into stuff like Adcom or NAD //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif Expect to pay around $300 for a decent integrated amp, maybe $400 for a separate pre-amp/power amp combo to get started.

well i will be starting fresh...

and to Jim, i kinda like yamaha and Onkyo for their price, i know they arent the best... but i rather run them then bose and some other brands by far lol

im alking more sub amps.. like every 500 watt rms amp or more i see is not as cheap as car audio lets say... but i dont know much about home audio and brands ect.. so i prob just havent looked at the right places
Your not gonna burn ur house down,, Your have the same chance as your computer starting on fire..Look at theses psu's they will power some good stuff for the price

This psu gives you 72 amps on 4 rails theses psus have overloads and every thing...get 2 of theses bad boys and you'l be set i had 3 of theses

just get a name brand that has a sub out, i found a yamaha on ebay for $40. Then just get a plate amp for the sub or if you want big power get a behringer, buttkicker, or qsc, there are a few others, those are rack amps. The rack amps dont have processing though (the buttkicker might) so you are gonna need a seperate crossover.

edit- the receiver should have a low pass on the sub channel, sorry forgot

My system for my room is a used yamaha ($40), an klh plate amp 175w (bought on ebay as a powered sub $40, ripped the amp out and threw the rest away), and some Aiwa bookshelfs (for now), oh and a 15" Kove ($40 bought here). So you see, its not really cheaper to wire car shit up in your house.

well when i do my ssyem its gonna be custom.. not prebuilt.. and i doubt thats 500 true watts.. or 500 watts to teh sub alone at least

yeah 500 watts might be overkill for my hosue lol i was just referencing.. and yeah rack amps are fine i would of done active or i'd make my own apssives...

i didnt mean for this to turn into this big of a subject lol cause this isnt happening anytime soon, i was just asking for the future

HT sub normally doesn't require the power you run to a sub in a car. Room gain and alarge/efficient enclosure are your friend. I run 400watts to each of my RL-P's in the house and metered 127+dB on my RS meter. That is F'ing loud in a house...

help me find stuff on ebay please
nearly every new(er) house receiver has a subout, heck before i had my receiver i was using an Aiwa shelf stereo and it had a sub out (it had tape decks too //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif ). Just look for use ones and look for closeups of the back, or search the model for an owners manual.
