Anyone back up their xbox360 games?

title says it all. if you have/do what programs do you use to do it. ive done some searching and found a few different methods, just wanted to see what others thought was the easiest method.

Easiest would probably be downloading the files. I would imagine with all the copy protection taken off they are not that big.

They are around 10gb for most games. Ive used anydvd and clone dvd to copy games. and then dvd shrink to shrink it down to a dvdr, but to play them you will have to mod your xbox

If you have the games and want to back them up on your computer you need a kreon drive (a dvd drive with flashed firmware to read the games properly), can be found over at the FS section on xbox-scene.com for around $40.

Then download Schtrom360Xtract, and let that copy the game.

Here's a good guide on how to use it (and do the rest of the copying/ripping).

Other than that, just grab a verbatum dvd+r dl disc and burn it.

Will be able to play it on a softmodded 360

i do have a modded xbox......not really sure what kind of mod but i know it will play backed up games on it.

Back when I used to download Dreamcast games there were a few that required some serious modifcations to get to fit on commercially available discs. Some would have music or video removed. Maybe its because I make a decent paycheck but if my games get trashed I would just buy new ones.

With the original X-box mod you could add an aftermarket HDD to it and just rip the games right to the drive. Is that possible now?

Not from my knowledge. But all you have to do is flash your 360's drive and then simply burn a game to a dl dvd. Every drive now is moddable, too. Pretty easy...

i dont make bad money either but if i can back up my brothers games and play them on my system i would rather spend that 60 bucks somewhere else. i just got the 360 and figured if i can do it, why not?

What the hell are you even talking about

Xbox 360 Games are ~7.05Gb and you cant shrink them to a dvdr

also does anyone know if you are able to get onto xbox live with the backed up copies?

afaik, yes you can use live because the system see's it as a REAL game so microsoft (at this point in time) can not detect the real vs the fake.
