anybody work on washers and dryers? please come in

If it's an older style you can take the timer apart. Look for burned points. They are brass tab looking things that the timer cam bumps against, If they are burned just file them down with a nail file.

ok thanks you guys that is what i was thinking. just spent 600 bucks today on some new tires for the wifes vehicle lol. don't want to spend the money to get a new washer right now. oh yes its a model lsr6132hq1 about 10 years old

Another option is to just pull the timer and look in the paper or craigslist for someone who sells used washers and dryers, They cannibalize the ones they aren't going to fix and use the used parts on the ones they sell.

He should have a box of timers that he can dig through and find the same one. When I had my shop I'd charge 5 bucks if I liked you and 10 if I didn't for a timer motor.
