just wanna find out the volume where it starts to distort so i can start one notch below and tune my whole system more precisely. i would be very appreciative if u guys could hook me up because i knew a lot more about car audio than the guy i just spoke to at pioneer (he told me the only way head units can be driven into clipping EVER is if they aren't using external amps).

what? you want to know where your volume clips? try it and turn it down a notch
im not an idiot, at the moment the gains on my amps are very low. moreover, when i set those gains, i did so with my HU volume at 34/62, which is way too low. however, i have had morel components in the past and i know they take a long time to break in (they sound great from the start but after about 40-50 hours, they open up like crazy).

so my gains are not only set too low, but the volume level they correspond to on my HU is set really low. my signal to noise ratio right now sounds like sh*t, and i am in the market for an oscope before i pay 50 bucks to use my shop's RTA.

so megalo, is it so fu**ing dick that i asked if someone already had the data i needed, especially after pioneer told me they didnt?

i read a lot of the posts on these boards, so i cant blame you for assuming, but not everyone in here is an idiot just looking for SPL
