look at it this way. not so much a secret once its out on the market. jl and sundown both come up with unique ideas.

JL and sundown do not belong in the same sentence. JL has been a world wide leader of R&D for a very long time. Their facility alone is a engineering work of art. They just have to much entry level stuff now.

All W7s are oversized if you look at cone area. And they have been around for what? 12 years now. They just do it with the surround mounting.

The 13 size was a good idea. They did it for trunks so you can have a bit more cone area and still fit without up firing.

I remember seeing a install at tweeter with a Tahoe 2-13 W7 with 2 JL 1001 amps. Can't lie, it sounded good and was loud. Just could not see that $1000 price tag per piece lol.

DD makes a solid product but it's the jl of custom audio... Overpriced goods... I just can't see paying 1k for a sub when there are other U.S. Made competitors that make equal quality subs for a more reasonable price

I agree. And as always, noloud will disagree and comeback with a statement saying paying that for SQ is fine. There's other brands that cost more.
