Yes, I will have to install switch before the isolator and mount it somewhere on my dash.

Most isolators will have an ignition switch built in.

Looks good. And yes the isolator goes on the power in between the two batteries. And go ahead and ground your amp to the rear battery.

ok thats even better. do they sell the isolators at like best buy or circuit city or do i need to go to autozone or a parts store.

a few quick questions to add to this conversation:

-can i put an isolator near the main battery under the hood?

--also, im putting 2 orion 1200d amps each packing 120A fuses,. i was told that it doesn't matter the size fure you put from front battery to back battery but to make sure the fuse ratings for the back should be the same as the output of the amps (in my case it'd be 240A).

---i have a 2 fared tsunami cap and will be adding another sub of equal output, should i get another identical cap (for looks) or disregard that one and go for just 1 larger cap?

i have had one sub already blown and replaced due to power issues so i want everthing correct.

best place to buy these accessories would be an audio shop or ebay/internet audio sources.
