Anybody try the new RE amps?

Was looking at this one. It looks pretty nice, but i don't know much about RE amps. It says its digital and it has a pretty small footprint.

It states the class d sub channel is 1 ohm stable , but not what it will put out at 1 ohm only at 2 and 4.

Specs are way to good to be that cheap. I dont trust it

Oh , i thought maybe you were speaking from experience. So you have no experience with any of their amps, just speaking from the price point. There are alot of good amps for good prices. The normal price not on sale for this is only $69 cheaper than the image dynamics i5800 and the re puts out 100 w less on the sub channel. So, by that price i would say that is about right.

ID is not what it used to be. And it says D class but it says AB on the specs

It is a 5 channel amp it has 2 seperate amlifiers in it ab is the 4 channel side and class d is the sub channel side. Also id has not released any new stuff yet so your comment about them not being the same makes no sense.

You can't make quality power for that price. But with that said, get it, clamp it and let us know.

I'm a bit surprised by the gut shots, they look pretty good. Robust actually.

My only concern, just from looking at the pics, is heat dissipation. Either other manufacturers have integrated heat sinks and/or cooling fans as mere marketing tools, or these RE amps had better have some good thermal protection circuits.

That's not true, there are plenty of good amps out there that put out quality power at good prices.

I can go on with some more. You guys are out of touch or pay to much for equipment. Lots of good 5 channel amps for the $300-$400 range that put out clean power.

Just noticed the the 800.4 has the same quad-torrid configuration as JL's HD amps. Are they using "single-cycle" class D at this price point?

You can get nice used old school 5 channel amps for under $150 on ebay. I put my Eclipse Premium 5 channel on there and it only sold for $120.
