Anybody running Polk MM6501's?

Was looking to get a set of these for the wife's car. I have an extra Rubicon 2.250 (friends build) that would feed these @2.7 ohms. Just wondering if any of you have heard these and how the mids are.

th midbass on those polks are ok.

you can look into these which to me will give you midbass that you maybe looking for, & both sets will offer more detail,better clarity,bottom end,& warmer airy sound vs those Polk's

Have u heard all 3 sets of speakers? Or how do u know they will sound better and have more midbass? Just wondering because idk much about comparing speakers and tweeters other that sensitivity

ctx65's are some of the sweetest speakers I have heard. Smooth tweeter and midrange and quite punchy midbass.

They are for the wife's car she has the db polk coaxials and a Tidal 12 in the trunk. I just fabricated her some fiberglass tweeter pods and was looking for some 2 ohm comps. ID's are over 300 for the 2 ohm. How about the CDT classics(2 ohm) vs the Polks?

ive had the polks and i liked them alot....even tho that was the only set of components ive ever bought lol. I dont have any input on the others

I think they are a nice for what you pay. same with the db series

I like the polks as well. They are a very nice speaker for the price. They are not a classical music style speaker, more of a rock and roll style speaker.

For $200 you can do better.

I am SQL guy, i listen to mostly underground hip-hop & some rock.

the cdt lower comps arent that impressive at all.

fearless1 why are looking for 2ohm speakers?

does your wife need more then 75 watts per side?

So i guess that amp is 75-4ohm,125-2ohms.

have you deadened the doors yet?

Ya the doors are deadened. I was surprised the amp sound as good as it does for the 40 bucks I paid for it. The current speakers just seem like the need a bit more power so I figure I would try some 2ohm comps. I run Focal K2's (hate the tweeters though replaced them with HAT L1 pros) in my setup and she is always saying how nice they sound and I wanted to replace her coaxials with some comps. I can get the MM6501's from a friend for 120, but i saw those CDT's on sale.

I have heard the polks MM, CDT i own, & my buddy has ID;s in his shop.

I have heard many brands on the market, so thats why i would say go listen to someone that has either the Polk or cdt's to judge for your self.
